The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) was born from various pieces of global, European and UK legislation as well recognising the need to reduce carbon emissions and reduce the drain on energy resources.

Aside from being a requirement of selling or renting a property, an EPC is a great opportunity to see where improvements and savings can be made.

The information can help prospective purchasers or tenants compare running costs on a like for like basis. This is something which will become more and more
significant with soaring energy costs; after all look at how most of us consider the running costs of a car now to how we used to – suddenly the m.p.g. and tax band become more key to that large purchase decision.

We all need to take some responsibility and it starts at home. It may only be small steps but if every household made a small step, collectively it will make a huge difference.

The assessment itself takes approximately an hour – dependant on the size of property.
Measurements are taken on site, along with other data relating to the fabric of the property and any heating system.Calculations are done off site and the certificate produced, which is valid for 10 years.

A professionally produced floor plan can help prospective purchasers or tenants visualise a property and can be produced alongside an EPC or as a stand-alone service.

Domestic EPCs start from £65
Floor plans can be ordered as a stand-alone service or alongside an EPC

In consideration to the environment, electronic copies of EPCs are preferred not only to save paper, but speeds up the whole process as the report can then be emailed easily. A printed EPC can be made available on request at no extra cost.
